Reporting back from Pendleton
As part of our ongoing partnerships with the Oregon Tourism Commission (DBA Travel Oregon), destination marketing organizations, and local government officials and state agencies (and other travel and tourism industry organizations), OTE sponsored an information booth at the 2016 Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism earlier this week.
The conference was held in Pendleton and over 450 industry representatives attended. During exhibitor breaks, conference-goers had the opportunity to stop by the OTE booth and talk to us about our various programs. From highway business signs and information kiosks to Heritage Trees and Historical Markers, we spoke with hundreds of people and answered their questions.
Travel Oregon and OTE sponsored a “road trip” photo contest that featured images taken at OTE rest areas and selfies with our doggy “I’m so relieved we stopped at an OTE rest area” posters. In addition, our rest area comment-card contest was a big hit—and the winner of the comment-card drawing, Rick Reynolds of Share Oregon, won a Pendleton blanket. The winner of the emergency car-kit and picnic sized Pendleton blanket (Brooks, from InnSight Hotels–image above left) submitted a photo from Memaloose Rest Area’s Oregon Trails kiosk.
