Weather Alert – Freeze Watch

*NOAA Issue Date: 12/9/2013 02:57:00 AM Freeze Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning … … Freeze Watch in effect from late this evening through Tuesday morning … The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Freeze Watch … Which is in effect from late this evening through Tuesday morning. A Freeze Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning. * temperatures … 20 to 30 degrees along the coast this morning … But 15 to 25 degrees over inland Coos county. Low temperatures in the mid 20s to low 30s are expected again tonight and Tuesday morning. * Timing Temperatures will remain below freezing through mid morning. Then expect temperatures to lower below freezing for most coastal locations once again tonight through Tuesday morning. * Locations include: Coos bay … North Bend … Reedsport … Bandon … Port Orford … Coquille … Brookings … Harbor … Gold Beach. * Impacts The severity of this cold snap and the length of sub freezing temperatures are unusual for the coast. Sensitive vegetation will be severely damaged or killed unless precautions are taken. Pets and livestock not accustomed to such cold will also be adversely affected.
