The marker icons on the map represent individual historical markers across the state. The wagon wheel icons represent Oregon Trail Interpretive Sites. If you’d like to visit them as a family outing or as part of a day trip, link to the marker detail pages for directions. Enter your starting point and find yourself in a new adventure.
By using the “topic” drop-down menu, you can search for markers by a variety of events, including disasters, routes, geology, Indian tribes, and other criteria. Make sure to check out the audio tours for unique perspectives on marker significance.
The Oregon Trail Interpretive Sites are available on this map through a partnership with Eastern Oregon Visitor’s Association. Many of these sites are part of our historical marker program or located in one of OTE’s rest areas, but others are looked after by other organizations. The sponsoring organization is listed on each post.
