Echo Meadows

Posted on: October 11th, 2012 by Annie Von Domitz in Oregon Trail Interpretive Sites | No Comments

Drive 5.5 miles west of Echo on Highway 320, then one half-mile north on the gravel road.

While crossing Echo Meadows, emigrants prepared themselves for the dusty and dry road westward to Well Springs and to the John Day and Deschutes rivers. Visible ruts and a short hike with interpretive signs mark this “nooning” place on the Trail.
