From I-84, take exit 302. From exit 302, travel east on Oregon Hwy 86 about five (5) miles to entrance driveway of the Interpretive Center.

The Bureau of Land Management’s National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center near Baker City includes exhibits and living history demonstrations describing life along the Trail as part of an 1850s wagon train. Visitors can walk beside ruts left by wagons a century and a half ago. Check the center’s website for current hours or call 541-523-1843

The written directions are just a little bit off – the Interpretive Center is located EAST of the interstate and Baker City, not west. From exit 302, travel east on Oregon Hwy 86 about FIVE miles to entrance driveway of the Interpretive Center.
Also, our open hours have changed since this was originally written. Good idea to check the website above for updated information.

Thanks Sarah! Annie has corrected the directions and it should be reflected on the map. We appreciate you letting us know.
