From I-84, take exit 216 and drive one mile north on Highway 331.

The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation’s Tamastslikt Cultural Institute focuses on the irreversible impacts of the Oregon Trail on the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla tribes. The opening of the route in the 1840’s and its magnetic draw of tens of thousands of emigrants westward translated into disruption, dislocation, and sometimes death for the American Indians living on the land the emigrants’ Trail crossed.
